Val de Vid
DO Rueda Premium WinesPassion and sweat. The illusion and the work. Experience and uncertainty. All this is Val de Vid, a very personal way of understanding wine and the vineyard, inherited from our elders, which we have always lived and without which we would not be able to give our wines their own character, born in the heart of the Rueda D.O., in the heart of the Verdejo grape.
Welcome to Val de Vid and welcome to this little journey through our way of understanding wine.
All our wines are made by combining the most traditional working and winemaking techniques, which we have been learning generation after generation, with the latest technology. In this way, not only is the wine given a special touch, but it also gives rise to special wines, different in their very essence.
There is more philosophy and wisdom in a bottle of wine than in all the books. LOUIS PASTEUR
Where our wines are bornOur home
It is a simple but modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art winemaking technology. Our winery is located in the municipality of Serrada (Valladolid), a village directly linked to wine within the D.O. Rueda, just 500 m. from the centre of Serrada and surrounded by vineyards, in a peaceful and welcoming environment that allows us to develop our philosophy when making wine: to integrate the highest quality and selection with absolute respect for the surroundings and the environment.
Val de VidVerdejo Family
The Verdejo variety is native to the area, providing a distinctive and exclusive note to the wines of the area. The grapes are harvested in excellent health conditions, looking for the best moment without climatic setbacks during the harvest. Therefore, we always schedule the harvest according to the ripeness and organoleptic conditions of each of the vineyard plots.
The climatic conditions condition the grape harvest each year, according to the temperatures and rainfall during spring and summer. This helps to optimise the best moment of ripening so that it is homogeneous, providing better analytical and organoleptic control of the grapes.
We seek the best balance between the amount of sugar, alcohol content and acidity to obtain wines with greater sweetness, glycerine and fat on the palate, without losing sight of the typicality of the Verdejo grape.
